John Davie comes from an elite sports background with an extensive expertise in business development and consultancy. For the last decade john has been business coaching allied health professionals around the globe.
He has recently just finished publishing a book on marketing for allied health business owners called “Marketing – the Heartbeat of your Business”, along with an online educational program specifically focused on producing high quality proactive Practice Managers for Physiotherapy businesses.
Sports Medicine: Qualified as a physiotherapist, John developed a high profile sports medicine business, SportsMed, located in central Christchurch with several other branches throughout the city including a contract with the NZ Armed forces. Within 3 years of developing his sports medicine focused physiotherapy practice it became the largest in New Zealand and one of the largest in Australasia. According to the national insurance scheme (ACC) its turnover was more than twice that of the next largest.
John also developed the Sports Trainers Course for the New Zealand Federation of Sports Medicine, lectured extensively on the national circuit on various sports medicine topics and in the specialised field of training for elite sports. Amongst other areas, John has presented internationally throughout the South Pacific Rim countries for the Oceania National Olympic Committee.
Strength and Conditioning Specialist: John is qualified as a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist through the National Strength and Conditioning Association of America and developed a sports training business for elite athletes utilising the latest scientific and sports training techniques which were applied into New Zealand sports. Contracts included The Canterbury and Auckland Rugby Football Unions as the strength and conditioning coach for their respective Rugby Teams, The Canterbury Netball Team, New Zealand Men’s and Women’s Softball Teams, New Zealand Canoe Polo Team, Canterbury Hockey, Canterbury Rugby League and New Zealand Kiwi Rugby League Team.
In association with Wayne Smith (All Black assistant coach) and Gilbert Enoka (All Black and NZ Cricket sports motivator), they combined their expertise to develop a video tape that was marketed Worldwide and titled ‘The Magnificent Sevens’. John’s section was on training programs for elite sport with a specific focus on Sevens Rugby.
Dennis has been in the service and sales industry nearly all his working life. He was an international sportsman in his native New Zealand, and went on to work with Olympic individuals and teams, as well as studying at the Australian Institute of Sport. By combining his retail background, sports psychology, the burning desire of a professional athlete to be the best, the ability to get the best out of others, a fierce self-belief and dedication for the long-haul, Dennis built RPS into the world class organisation it is today. Along the way RPS has improved the performance of hundreds of retailers.
Dennis has spoken on many public platforms, led workshops and seminars, and regularly makes keynote speeches at retailers’ own programs. Dennis’s expertise and experience has helped create a world class program deliverable into specific industries and flexibly designed to cater for the idiosyncrasies and uniqueness of each business.
